Aoyama World Parade
The Opening Ceremony will be held in front of the Honda Aoyama Building (Aoyama 1chome). The Parade will start at 14:00, proceed along Aoyama Street, and arrive in front of Aoyama Gakuin University. As last year, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Cavalry and the Camp Zama Army Band will lead the Parade, along with the colorful samba and drum teams sponsored by the Embassy of Brazil. Groups wearing traditional costumes, carriages and convertibles from other Embassies, Japanese drumming groups, representatives from the earthquake affected areas and from Aoyama will follow. A banner with the words "Rise Up, Japan!" written on it will be carried along Aoyama Street, as a collective message of support. After the Parade, the groups who took part in it will hold live performances at the Marché and in the various stages located in the area.

Aoyama World Market
Started in 2010, the open-air market "Marché Aoyama" is intended to be a contribution to the development of a sustainable society. In its first edition last year the event attracted more than 7,000 visitors in two days. This year, tent spaces, along with tables and chairs, will be provided for free to the earthquake affected areas. Various Embassies will be also participating , reflecting the international atmosphere of Aoyama. The event will be held with the support of the shop owners and companies of the area, and of a large number of students. The bamboo tents, which received a very favorable response in the last edition, will be used also this year.

Remarks | The cost of the tent space provided to the earthquake affected areas will be borne by the Aoyama Shop Owners Association. Participants from the same areas will be also exempt from the participation fee (10% of the earnings). |
